Frequently asked questions

Here are some questions that have been asked by parents and youth. If you have a question that hasn't been answered here, please contact us using the contact form.

What are the costs and deadlines for payment?

The cost of the conference is £150. This includes your accommodation, all meals during the stay and a small fee to cover the processing of the payment. All payments must be received by Sunday 30 June.
Payments can be made via the cogop.org.uk website. In order to successfully complete the process you will need the order number from your Eventbrite registration, this can be found in the confirmation email. If you are having difficulty accessing this please ‘contact the organiser’ via the Eventbrite event page.

What time does the conference start and finish?

The church service will start at 7:30pm on the Wednesday and will close at 2pm on the Sunday.

I am under 18 but would like to attend, what shall I do?

Anyone wishing to attend under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult (this may be by their parent, legal guardian, or with the written consent of their parent or guardian, a family member/friend or nominated DBS cleared youth/church leader). It will be the responsibility of the accompanying adult to supervise the young person for the duration of the trip, ensuring they are accompanied when traveling (to, from and within Prague), are aware of all required information and adhere to the conference code of conduct. Please be mindful of guidelines in relation to adult/child ratios.

From our research, no additional documentation (to valid travel documentation) is required by the Czech authorities for minors. Information source

What is the programme and speakers for the conference?

The full programme will be circulated nearer the event, to be kept informed please connect to the Get plugged in social media pages on Facebook or Instagram

We will be blessed to hear from speakers from Europe and beyond; including the General Overseer for COGOP internationally, our International Youth Director as well as some faces we’ll recognise from home.

How do I get to and from the airport?

Closer to the event a communication will be sent from the GPI team to request your arrival time. This is so that representatives from the team can be sent to help navigate the journey from the airport to the hotel, using public transport. The hotel is close by and is easily accessible by public transportation. Alternatively, you can make your own arrangements (e.g. by taxi). Further details on the conference venue please seehttps://www.hotelolsanka.cz.

Can I choose who I will be sharing with?

You can tell us who you'd like to share with when you make your payment. We will do our best to accommodate this but cannot guarantee it. If you don't get to share with the person you know think of it as a good opportunity to make a new friend!

Will Get Plugged in attendees be the only guests at the hotel?

No, there will be other guests in the hotel during the conference. It is a large hotel in the middle of the city and the conference will be held during the summer tourist time period. The conference area allocated for Get Plugged in, will be for conference use only.

What time is check in and out?

Check in: Wednesday 24 July, before 3pm. Registration will provide you with your conference pack and hotel information.
Check out: Sunday 28 July, 2pm. Any additional dates booked to stay at Hotel Olsanka will need to be made separately and won't be covered by the Get Plugged In conference.

If I have a dietary requirement, diagnosed medical condition or disability I want to inform you about, how is this done?

We aim to ensure the event is inclusive and needs are accommodated. As part of the U.K. payment process you will be directed on how to make disclosures of this nature.

How much spending money would be good for the duration of the stay?

All meals starting with dinner on the Wednesday through to Sunday breakfast are included in the conference fee however we advise bringing some money for personal spending. Additional money will be required for drinks other then water at meals, refreshments beyond the main meals, tourist activities, transportation to and from the hotel, if you wish to purchase any merchandise or give an offering during service times. The main currency in Prague is the Czech Crown (CZK).

Is this conference for youth who are already Christians or can non Christians attend too?

If you are a Christian this conference will give you time to 'get plugged in' deeper to God. If you're new to Christianity then this will offer you a great opportunity to meet new people from across Europe and ask questions about God, faith and church. All are welcome!

Are there some handy Czech phrases I should learn?

Here is a link to some helpful phrases. We'd suggest you try to learn 'yes, no, thank you and please' at least :)

Will there be spare time to explore Prague?

There will be free time within the conference programme that will allow you to explore the city. Tours will be available.
